converting GT to g40

Post by gtjoe »

hello peeps... how difficult is it converting gt's to g40's. What major changes must be carried out under the bonnet, while swapping the lumps, i.e master cylinder etc

Here's an article all about it...

If you do find an engine this is what you will need with it.

The engine with its boost pipes, distributor, supercharger, clutch pressure plate, clutch plate, alternator, starter motor, intercooler, wiring loom and ECU. If the engine has come out of a G40 then get the brake callipers to, as they will come in handy later on. Here is a tip though, if you don’t get an intercooler with it VW LT vans used the same intercooler but with the top cap the wrong way round. This is easy to sort by just bending back the clamps and swapping it round, but be careful not to crack or break them as this will leave the intercooler useless. If you want the G40 gearbox that is your choice.
Just remember to keep the GT inlet manifold!! :D
