Saloon Boot Spoiler

Post by Petrified »

Can anyone suggest anything to try, found out a VW spoiler is gonna cost £90+ not getting one of them....

maybe try something from a scrap yard, not really sure which car to look at. Want something like the old style black rubber ones, like on the bmw's

any ideas?

would a jetta one fit?

Hi,
Is the genuine one just a lip which fits flush to the boot? or is it raised up on two/three wee supports as there is a saloon in the local scrappy which has the flush type £20 and there is a saloon near me with the raised one - cant steel it i am afraid!

Personallty the flush rubber one looks superior I think!

It's the raised on that's genuine, never seen either of them so not really sure what they look like!

I might have seen one on a mk2 derby. apparently the same part.

Cheers, would appreciate that! :D

I know most people couldn't care less about the saloon but I still think it's a cool car to play with certainly don't see that many around.

Although it looks like most of them are still on one owner and under 60,000 miles.

Cool, thanks for looking, I'll be in the scrapyard with my measuring tape on saturday then!

Currently looking at an old bmw one on ebay if it didn't fit I could chop it down, it's pretty cheap at the moment.

Some early Mk2 Derbys have black plastic/rubber boot spoilers... they'd fit straight on too as it's the same boot lid.

That'd look sweet!

EDIT: Excuse the stripes, but here's the spoiler:
