Fine as long as you can put it back for the MOT

Modern cats aren't very restrictive but they do act like a silencer so it will be slightly rortier!!

you can't decat a 6n2 gti cause theres a lambda probe after the cat . you would mess up the running if you did the best you could do is fit a high flow cat been on to miltek if they do one but they dont im trying to get them to make me one

Are you confusing that with the pre-catylist? Having one after the cat wouldn't help in determining the mixture would it?

having one after the cat also lets the ecu know if the cats doing its job properly :? so by removing the cat your opening up a whole box of trouble and yes theirs definetely a probe in front and after the cat . so getting a high flow item is the only way around the problem but miltek are a lot cheaper than a G mate the salesman i was talking to said he could do the cat as a universal one for a bit over a ton

Richard harper on this site has de cated his gti and he got powerflow to make him a de cat pipe, they drill a hole in the pipe and fit a nut into it for the sensor to screw into. :)

Like Jordan said i've de-catted my gti with no problems apart from the fuel consumption.
I now get less miles to a tank of fuel.
Doesn't bother me though as it feels like theres more pull when you hit the accelerator, is that cause theres less restrictions for the exhaust gagses to go through ?
Got it emmissions tested too @a local garage and it passsed to my suprise.....
How weird!!!

Thats funny how you past the emmision test. Yeah your right, theres less restriction for the gases to flow so it can get more air in n out of the engine faster so it will use more fuel. Did your car get alot louder with the de cat or just a little bit of a difference.

Yeah thinking bout getting this done soon too. Just getting a bit worried in case the car goes into limp mode because the sensor is not connected.
