wrecked my G40 !!!!!

Post by ibiza jamie »

boo hoo!!! :(

its not fair,

drivin to work this mornin, and obviously the stoopid grittin lorries only did one side of the road. so i go a sensible 30mph around a fairly normal corner.

all of a sudden im goin sideways, tried to get it back but that was it i slide sideways up the kerb and down into a 3 foot ditch :(

by looks of the damage its a write off, the drivers side chassis leg is almost bent double and inner wing is mullered.

plus the engine sits about 1-2 inches further back than it should

im ok which is good spose

absolutly gutted tho

sorry for the poor description hopefully pics will explain.

cheers guys

Looks like an easy repair to me - bolt it to a jig and pull it all back out

wings(both)

doors(both rusty anyway)

bonnet

front panel

slam panel

bumper

intercooler

grill

driveshaft

lower arm

arb is torn from mounting and bent!

inner wing

chassis jigging

throttle cable

whatever damage there is to the diff after havin the shaft wrenched out

bent exhaust too

Wasn't someone selling a G40 rolling chassis while ago?

Alternatively a cheap 1.3L GT or even 1.0L would be a good donor vehicle

ouch! not good, glad you're OK though.

at least the engine & charger are still OK. hopefully you'll put them into another shell of some description, Caddy would be nice!

Glad to hear you are okay, shame about the motor, does look like it's going to be a big job (sorry!).

I'm sure you'll be able to sort something out in the end...

Sorry to see a wrecked G like that, though as others have said at least you're ok.

Hopefully you'll be able to find a good home for that engine too! 8)

I can think of more than one GT that's getting a G40 conversion soon if you can't though...

If it's repairable it should be done and done properly. These are rare enough cars as it is.

Glad your O.K. though.

Sorry to see that, glad you're ok though.. I hope you manage to either get it fixed or to salvage a decent amount of it. Just look at it as an excuse to make a serious project out of it ;)
