I personally prefer the way it used to look. Would agree with putting the old GTi grill back on tho. What have you done with your old alloys? Me like them alot.

Hats off for been bold though, its one of a kind.

Lovin' it. If you're thinking of putting the original GTi grille back on... you wanna sell the kamei?

I like the german-stylee plates, where do you get those done?

I was just about to ask that myself......... Also are they road legal or do you take the risk of having to have them took off etc.......

I got my plates checked out by a couple of differant coppers who both said they were ok to use.... Although the only thing dodgy with mine was that they have a VW badge ghosting effect going all over the plate.....Looks a little like a polka-dot effect from a distance.

Cheers

Dave.

thanks for the comments guys!

I've sold the old wheels to a local guy for his corrado... was in 2 minds but couldnt keep them in my room all summer! :)

Si - if i do go for the original grill how bout a swap, yours + few £££ for the Kamei - i sold my original one last year! D'oh!!

the plates are from www.dubmeister.co.uk and worth every penny, everybody either comments on them or stops and scratches their head lol

They are legal as far as i'm aware, font is legal and spacing is as intended - adding the dash doesnt alter the reading of the reg. also they are reflective even though they're metal...

Most of the carbon bonnets I've seen available have got the cut-out done, as in standard form the GTi grille has a VW badge on the front which sits in that recess. Carbon bonnets will have been modelled on an original bonnet, hence the cut-out. FK's carbon bonnet has a cut-out in it too:

like Si_GTi says they're a mould of an original bonnet and ALL Mk5's come with the recess for the grille badge, its just that i've got the kamei grille at the min that the gap isnt filled!

trust me its definitely carbon

also took peoples advice and got a carbon badge on its way for the front and lowered the back end right down... jus waiting for the new bumper and colour coded splitter to get back from the body shop in the next few days!

and another trick mod done - chrome R32 bonnet lifter!!

i'll post some more pics of it finished soon!
