toothed belt????

any you guys had it changed? wot is it?? car is due a big service and want get the lot done 42000 on the clock.

its the belt that does your engine timing if it breaks your in big trouble

any idea when it should be changed?? and how much it will cost?

I think its meant to be done by 60,000.
thats when I had mine changed, there are 2 belts on the gti (twin cam), a long and a short one. Get the tensioners changed too as these can break up. (mine seemed to be perfect but you can't take the risk!)

I got a local garage to do it with vw parts. can't remember what I paid but can find out for you.
