Don't wan't to dampen your spirits, but if thats what was indicated on your speedo it's not gonna be accurate, especially with 15" wheels.

If he has 45 profile tyres, then it will be correct, wouldn't it?

90 for about 2 seconds out of sheer curiosity, then I realised I valued my license, my ability to stop in a half reasonable distance on standard mk2 brakes and tyres, and my hearing ;), haven't been above 80 since and that's about the limit of what I'm ever willing to do. Not to mention 90 in a mk2 1.05 with a couple of passengers in the car really is an unsettling experience, and something not to be repeated on anything other than a very long, very clear road ;)

I regularly do and sit quite comfortably (but obviously it's more comfortable at 60/70) at 80/90mph in my GT. Rarely go above 100.

Its only an "instant ban" if youre caught doing more than 100. I usually stay under 90 on the mway.

there's the answer to speeding, put everyone in old, rattly, undergeared cars with dubious safety :D

106 indicated in the polo, and it was really making sure i knew that.
Reasonably good to cruise at between 55 and 75 in, happiest around 45-50 when there was opportunity for that speed to be "comfortable"
though of course a lot of the time it was jammed in the 75-90 zone (and might i say, on a decent bit of tarmac without a considerable headwind, it felt the most stable thing in the world)

far side of 110 on the clock in the 'tray, it was still hurting for a little bit more acheivement but ran out of clear road... (more realistically ~100-105 in top, 4th is a smidgen quicker but very loud and thirsty)
It'll whisper along at 70, be alright at 80, and only start to make a bit of a growl at 90-plus... not exactly an invitation to stick to our outdated limits. (though i'm now trying to....... for the sake of my wallet rather than my license)

3 points up to about 90, 6 points over 90, ban at 100.. I believe that's how it goes. However, I've only had my license a year and a half, so I'm still on my 2 year probation license.. 6 points and I lose it :? And I'd rather not end up back on L plates for the sake of a couple of mph really.

I got flashed on the M25 by an overhead Gatso when I was pushing just short of 130mph inmy Golf... Luckily I never heard anything from it. Regularly used to cruise at 120+!!

The polo revs so damn high though, that I rarely go over 90.

Polos are definately not cruisers. They're nippy, accelarating cars but also good for quick blasts down the dual carriageway.
