i've ordered a load of parts.

Intercooler is being posted to me tomorrow c/o hayesey.

I went to VW today and bought a new oli filter and fuel filter. I have to go back to VW to geta rear engine mount, manifold to downpipe gasket and a rocker cover gasket.

Went to ECP and bought a new rad, 2 new fuel pumps, cam belt, engine mount and gearbox mount, inlet manifold gasket, and ht leads.

And I've ordered a set of spark plugs and a new braided charger oil feed pipe from Pitstop.

hopefully I'll have everything by Saturday.

Engine is coming ut of the GT on sat. The G40 will have all it's new bits put on, and we'll swap the inlet manifolds over too. I think Saturday will be spent mainly cleaning up the G40 and my engine bay.

That leaves Sunday and Monday to get the engine in. Easy peasy lemon squeezey.

Once it's all in, it will be driven down to Littlehampton for Pitstop to give it the once over and make sure everything is ok. While it's there I may even get a toothed belt and pulleys put on!!

I'm liking a lot of the stuff on the Pitstop website. Those oil catch tanks look smart. Might get one of them too!

Rob, you don't need to buy a radiator if the one in your GT is ok. They are both the same part.

Plan. I'm going to return the rad and buy a water pump instead. Should be going to pick up my parts from pitstop on saturday. I ordered an oil cooler today from them too! A long thin one that sits behind the frint bumper cut-out.

Getting excited now.

Nice one, Oil coolers are also a must for GT's imo. Nothing bigger than a 13 row is needed, infact a 10 row is more than adequate with a thermo take off plate.

Yeah I think the oil cooler goes between the filter and block mk2 golf stylee and the actual cooler I've ordered is a long thin one that mounts behind the 'mouth' in the front bumper.

Although I haven't heard anything from Pitstop. Was meant to be going down tomorrow to get all the bits but Steve hasn't phoned me yet. :(

I don't know what carmadaaaron is on about? 'strip and build project'?? Well we 'stripped' the G40 and we are gonna 'build' it into my GT??

think it may have been a joke! o well, didn't go so well for him!

will be interested in one of these oil coolers! make sure u take pics etc.

o another thing, as u have been taking apart a g40, can u tell me wot holds the rad in! there are two bolts in the slam panel which i am aware about, however, they don't exactly hold the rad in place. they just loosly locate into a kinda lug thing on the rad! i think i may be missing something!
