Has anyone upgraded their 9n springs and dampers?
Looking for advice on a good quality sports suspension setup for my 1.2 12v 9n, only looking to lower 30-40 mil, more concerned with quality of springs and dampers, not looking to spend silly money. Anyone?

H&R Cupkit (- 50 mm). Good value for money but you have to be fond of a stiff ride.
Eibach Prokit-springs (-35 mm front/ 30 mm for rear) or Eibach Sportline-springs (-50 mm front/ 35 mm rear) combined with Eibach Pro-dampers. Because Eibach uses progressive springs your car will still feel comfortable.
At this moment I have H&R but I still want to change them for Eibach. When doing a lot of miles H&R just ruins my back.

Thanks joy, useful beta, Had quick look on the net, dampers and springs £440, not bad, eibach stuff is good kit, lot of the MG boys use it. My birthday soon, well have to drop very big hints. Never come across kits that drop the front more than the rear as the sports kit does before.
I think changing the springs and dampers is fairly straight forward, had a look under car, everything seems easily accesible.

iv got the apex springs 40mm and i want to change my shocks to something better! my dad is always sayin i dont have the right suspension setup!
does it matter what shocks i use? or will i have to use the apex ones? i just want somethin non standard to improve the ride, bumpier or less bumpier, im not fussed. just want it to handle better!

You should not swap your suspension if you haven't done this before.
It's easy but you have to know what you're doing. Safety first.

you could go for Apex-dampers. But if you don't mind a stiff ride you definately have to take a look at the H&R cupkit. Last week I fitted a BMW 3-series with this setup and it's a firm ride but hell does it grip.

Rears are a piece of pee to change, can be done in 30 mins if quick with a socket set and a spanner.
Fronts are a nightmare and I wouldn't recommend even trying it. I smashed a friend's ABS sensor trying to change his OSF suspension...not good!
The SEAT Sport kit will fit on and is a comfortable ride. That has Eibach springs and Sachs shocks. Alternatively, the Eibach kit which is essentially the same is good, however coilovers are the best. KW v2s are recommended if you have the wonga
