I was struck by how similar the skoda felica *spit* interior is to the 9n:
Intrigued, I had a quick browse through skoda's website and noticed:
A drinks cooler!! I'm pretty sure we have a blanking plate there (it's too late to go out and look) - does anyone want to investigate this further? Mole, did you take this off in your fog lights conversion - do you have any idea what's behind it?
Even if we can't mod the vents, it would still make another nice little cubby hole (or something else to rattle, depending on your point of view...)

OK, so it has a sunroof, but what is that just in front of it - is that another storage place (sunglasses??)
Look carefully at the top picture on this post, and you'll see it in the Felica too.
However, I don't think this will be doable because:
a) we have ultrasound sensors for the alarm up there.
b) if you look at the profile of the actual roof lining, its shaped differently up the edges of this unit.
So maybe we just mark this one down as "interesting"
Oh well, I've ordered a Felica brochure off their website to see if I can get better pics of these things. If the worst comes to the worst, I may even have to find a skoda dealer to cross the threshold of... (I do need some chrome door pins, anyway
