Polo GTI Legal Action

Post by DMWRIGHT »

Ok guys / girls.

We (most of us) have had issues with the Polo GTI and most I'd guess are a little pi$$ed at the service we've had with this car.

Well as most have tried to gather information to take further action thus far I believe nothing has come of the actions (please inform me otherwise if this isn't the case)

Tyresmoke.net has recently had a new member who is a trainee solicitor who is willing to collate owners information and provide an investigation and communication into issues to address VW and interested parties.

Please help the cause and hopefully help get these common issues with the car sorted.

i have a 16v 1.4 and it has had so many problems with almost everything its had 3 clutches a new pedal box, gearbox re build, new abs sensors, wing mirror motor, vw also adjusted my headlights snappend the screws and blamed me.. etc...... and now the crankshaft seal has gone and the head gasket is on its way out. i think they are just s**t cars. im trading it in soon for a skoda fabia and never buying vw again cause the customer service is s**t look at topgear surveys, skoda placed 2nd and vw were about 26th out of 34... thats terrible for a "good quality" car brand.

Ive had the ole pedal box replaced on my 2000 Gti and straight after my clutch was knackered, VW wouldnt give me any money off like morons.

ALso my gearbox is kack nowadays, 2nd gear sometimes 'Chunks' into gear, really really annoying, no doubt VW wont have anything to do with it.

I take it everyone else has the same problems yea?

Takes the p*** !!!

Finally i read someone else has had problems with the gearbox. I thought it was just me.

We have had ours for just under 2 years and have had to replace the clutch twice and the pedal box once. The car is off the road just now cos the gearbox is away again and we cant afford to repair it till afterthe summer. But when it does get repaired it be the 4th gearbox we have had in it since we got it.

And again VW dont want to know.
