Does it make a difference to the size of the engine bay either way? Or would it be purely cosmetic?

The mk2 engine bay is shorter but taller. The G40 version has a section cut out of the slam panel to accomodate the charger. At a guess the bay on a mk3 is about 3 inches longer.

the white one was most definatly the one with the mk2 rear! noticed in the pics he has smoothed his wipers out, maybe he did the stuff to make the mk3 wings fit at the same time!
