EPC !?! Help

what does it mean when my GTI's EPC light is going on once a while?

It turn off by itself after I turn off my car, but comes on once a while when I m driving

This is usually the engine management system stating there is a fault somewhere - i took mine into VW wen this happened charge £50 for error reading and if u have the work done there and then they 'do not charge for error reading'

if anyone feels i missed a bit then please jump in...

get yourself vag com so you can view and erase the codes yourself. You can also watch whats happening, ignition timing, intake temps, rpm, engine temps etc etc etc. very handy bit of kit.

I'd get it up to a decent VAG dealer/independant that can plug it into the diagnostic equipment and find out the cause of the problem.

I had the same problem about 10 months ago. I took it to my local VW dealer and they charged me £42 for changing a switch that had gone faulty. I think it was the brake pedal switch!

thanks guys... i got it fixed already, just a code error, it was done for free at the dealership.
