Delocked Door Handles - Colour Opinion

I want to get delocked door handles for my mk5, as I understand, I can just order the rear door handles and put them on the front - right?

If so, great, but idealy id like them silver to match the car, but how much would it be to get them sprayed roughly and where?

Should I just go for factory black ones? Reason im thinking this, is because it will break up the silver a bit, match the underside of the mirrors and any other black parts... or should I get primed and pay for a spraying????

My rear door handles are on the way from VAGParts to replace my fronts in the same way that you're planning. In my case, on my black car, I'm going to have them sprayed up by my dealer when I get them, and fit them myself. I don't think I would be able to do a very good job myself, never been much good with painting stuff!

As for your handles, IMHO I'd keep them silver

Oh yes, the quote from my dealer to prepare, paint and lacquer the handles was about £35-40...

Im not sure id be able to spray them good either, I think I should contact my local dealer to find out the costs for spraying - could get a gti spiltter done at same time too if cost is similar

Why spray yours if they are black already, or you ordered primed from vagparts? sorry im not sure what you meant

Id really like silver, but cant decide if black will look good or not hmm

I'm spraying the door handles so that they match the car. What I meant to explain was that from VAGParts they will arrive unpainted, so black plastic finish I guess. I'll take a pic or two of them when I get them, should be this week sometime

im getting mine sprayed shortly aswell, looks mint colou-coded, unless you have a white car with black rims

Why dont you get the bit under the wing mirror colourcoded too at the same time? The bit that hold it on. Then your sorted

The whole black bit that is under the wingmirror and on the door attachment?? I think that won't look right? or will it... hmm something to think about - do you have a pic of someone's car who has done it??

Not sure what it will cost but about 40quid im thinking. Gunna get it done at the same time as my delocked door handles and front splitter.

i say go silver as mine are magic black and as for base plates if you painted that silver it would ruin the contrast
