Help Needed - Pod Filter / Cold Air part needed

Post by knaps »

Just wonder if anyone has fitted a part like this to their polo 9N and where about I can get one? I know K+N do one but will it fit in the engine bay?

K&N is not well designed. It's mounted directly on your throttlebody and sucks a lot of hot air into the engine.

Today I went to a racing-shop and bought a Pipercross filter (60 mm). A Samco 90 degree tube. Your throttle-body is 50 mm. The Samco widens from 50 to 60 mm. Then you mount a aluminium pipe between the samco-tube and filter so that the filter is positioned directly for the intake of your grille.

are all throttle bodies the same on the petrol engines or not? I measured the interior dia of my 1.2 12v 65ps (roughly though) and it seems to be 48 mm, do the bigger engines have wider throttle bodies?
