mmmm latex gloves

Post by Tahrey1043 »

odd things they are.

positive: stop you from getting oil and crap all over your hands and having to use multiple doses of swarfega... (or blood and germs and pharmeceuticals, in t'ospital)

negative: covered in that fingers-on-blackboard powdery stuff, and do tend to make your hands smell like condoms even after aforementioned multiple washes.

sorry for random, its sunday night and i really should be in the pub after an epic oil-change battle, but been welched!

heh
we use them at work, thin as sh*t they are, however gently i clean i always end up with a finger poking through, and yup the smell is reminicent of Durex extra strong.
worst of all is when they are really wet, you can't get the buggers off (which sometimes is a 2-person job!), and they squeak like mad

I've got through about 7 pairs today fitting the spare engine into the runabout. Problem I have is they make your hands sweat like mad and tear every 5 mins.

yeah I use loads of latex gloves, but at the price I get them (2 boxes for £5) they are cheaper than hand cleaner. They also protect you from the oil and other stuff you're using, like filler and plaster (which give you chemical burns) when you're doing DIY.

ahh and as for hand cleaners, I reckon you cant beat Comma Mantissa

I get them from work! You should avoid all contact with oil and grease. Remember swarfega dries out your hands so remember to moisturise!

I get gloves from autojumbles....

... its kinds like a car boot sale, where you can buy a car boot, or any other part of a car for that matter.

also useful if you dye/bleech your hair lots

the powdery stuff is only flour

though my first instint on reading this topics title was to simply reply

"freak"

i think they should do flavoured latex gloves like condoms - now that would be mint (or strawberry, or banana, or....)

yeh i didnt realise how good using latex gloves was until i ran out of them. It took me longer 2 clean ma hands after striping the rear suspension than it did 2 actually strip it off the car!

*memo 2 self, go buy new latex gloves*
