lol if i could control my right foot, the tray would actually be more efficient than the 1.0 was, despite having a 1.6..
same story with the G i think, because of better basic engine efficiency (there's some kind of theory behind it - small engines are not necessarily more efficient ... hence, small cars getting 1.9 litre diesels!) and the gearing, if you can discipline yourself to "low" constant speed running (30 thru 80mph or so) and gentle acceleration*.
Course, soon as you start exceeding the speeds a flat out 1.0 could manage, or punching the throttle from every last junction (i'm gonna have to face it, i'm addicted to torque), the fuel consumption suffers baaaaad.
Still dont understand how 19 year olds are affording the insurance when I had to skip even on the idea of a GT when the last car-buying time came around... and at the time i was 23.... with 2 years no claims... in steady employment.
*A/M42 south between 4 and 6pm is good for preliminary training, and can offer nice comedy moments as you see a beemer driver repeatedly coming close to killing themselves in the outside lane, whilst you ever so slowly gain ground on them... by keeping a near-constant speed and 50m braking gap, in the left lane

Holy crap Tahrey, where do you live, Baghdad?
I'm 22, have 3 points on my licence and have fully comp, all mods declared insurance on a 135bhp G40 conversion for £870, living in Cardiff and parked on a public road too. So in theory if you had given Brentacre a call, that's who I'm with, you'd have been able to get insurance on a GT, if not a G40 at 23.
Would've saved you from being a "treacherous GM buying bastard" lol!
Though I agree I have no idea how 18/19 year olds can get insurance on a G40, considering at that age I didn't have points and was getting quotes upwards of £3000 for a completely bog standard factory G40.
Or are you rinsing your inheritance/savings/student loan/bank of mum and dad to pay for really expensive insurance?
