yyyyyyyep

well it was more technical with stuff about "minutely controlling the torque output of the engine for a smooth idle" ...... im sure that was in there somewhere

Only the G40 has a knock sensor, and as you said it's not a miracle cure - it does not totally eliminate pinking in all cases. It's also a pain in the arse in general...

Anyway, to the point - on the Digifant Polos (G40/GT) the base ignition timing is set by the distributor position, and extra degrees of advance/retard are added by the ECU according to data within its maps.

However, I'm pretty sure you (DanW) have an NZ? In which case, Digijet controls the fuelling only. The base ignition timing is still set by dizzy position, but advance is taken care of by the mechanical vacuum advance unit.

yeah I've got an NZ. If I'm advancing the timing. Is it recommended to take of the vacume advance? Or is it possiable to make the vacume advance, advance the timing a bit more?
