POLO GTI HELP

Post by KEVSGTI »

Hi guys just wondering if anyone has experienced any trouble with their polo gti misfiring ?

Got my polo gti serviced a couple of weeks ago and plugs got changed, started missing a bit since then and now its worse, took it back and they checked it out but cant find anything wrong.

Has anyone experienced this before ???

i was going to try that too mate spoke to the mechanic who serviced it and he said that quite often one of the leads can get damaged slightly removing them to fit the plugs. Will you let me know if a new set of leads solves your problem mate?

No mate when accelerating at low revs it misses a bit then acceleerates. It kind of shudders a little bit before it starts to rev. Hard to describe

Ok bare with me, does sometimes it turns over but doesn't start?

Or it starts but idles higher than 10,000 and then drops below about 8,000 after you release the clutch??

Does sometimes it struggle to pull smoothly throughout the rev range with the car out of gear and or in gear ??

No mate it starts and idles no problems.

But when accelerating at low revs in 2nd,3rd or 4th gear it gives a little shudder before accelerating. Its a kind of delay before acceleration. It only does it sometimes not all the time. I am positive its the spark plug leads just wondered if anyone else had this problem and what it was.

I managed to get a set of new HT Leads today and it has cured the problem. Its a completley diffferent car to drive. The garage must have damaged my old ones when taking them off to change the plugs. Only downside is i had to settle for black leads as the red ones were proving too difficult to get.

My car has been misfiring since i got it, i think. But it only does it now and then, pretty rarely to be honest. Was gonna post a question on here but i didn't really know how to describe it :D

I only seem to get it in second i think
