it gets worse

Post by daldridge »

it gets worse now customer services say they may give a goodwill gesture but only if their independent diagnostic team have a look at a cost of £400 and decide it not "pilot Error" however they then said the goodwill may be no more than the 400 diagnostic charge anyway. cant beleive im going to lose my car over this.

as anouther option has anyone uprated their gearbox or put in the lupo 6 speed. i may get out anouther loan to cover an expendituer like this but cant justify this money putting in anouther shoddy clunky polo gearbox

Nightmare!

A few guys here have mentioned the possibility of a Lupo GTi 6-speed 'box but AFAIK no-one has done it yet. I don't know what to suggest regarding VW's "goodwill" gesture - maybe if you push them a little more they might give a little more, but they certainly won't do it under warranty conditions :(

What bad timing! Feel for you mate, I really hope you don't have to sell the car over this :?

Have you asked any VW specialists about doing the work, such as Awesome GTi or JBS Chesterfield? Could save you some cash?

I've looked into the six speed box and as far as i've been told it should fit no problems you just need to fabricate a mount as a mount is in a different place. Sounds simple but probably isnt'.

Haven't taken it any further as yet because touch wood since the recall its been good as gold.
