To change a dipped light

Post by scattycat1 »

Is it true that if your dipped light bulb goes, that you have to take it to a garage to change it???

It says it in the manual, but cant believe that they make cars these days which require you to take it to a garage to have a new bulb put in ... I wonder if a copper had pulled you over for a blown dipped light, and you told them 'ok I'll book it in the garage' do you think they'd think you're takin the Micheal or that they might take it seriously?

its a bit fiddly but easy enough to do, you wont need to take it too a garage.

The diesel engine bays are pretty packed from what i gather, mine definitely is and mine requires you to remove the bumper to remove the light.

Removing the bumper really isn't hard what so ever tho. I've managed to do it and that say a lot!

In my old 1.2 it was possible to change the lights with out taking anything apart.

i had a stroke of luck tonight, my mates next door neighbour works for VW where i take mine and he was like give me a tenner and i'll change the bulb as i have one in the garage!

He's used to doing it so just squeezed his hand in by the fuel filter. He also said that i have the worst case senario as i have the bigger battery and the fuel filter the other side.

He also gave me some very good advice about a few other things!! woohoo
