Screeching wheels (brakes)

I was just leaving college/6th form/whatever ya call it today, and as soon as the car was in motion there was a HUGE schreeching sound.
Managed to get as far as the dealer (tunes blaring to drown it out!) and the guy on the desk says it would be 35quid to get someone to look because it's 'wear and tear' not warranty

So i thought sod it, went out... reveresed it around the car park a few times... no good. Then a guy comes outta the service bay and asks whats up.... gets on hands and knees, has a feel around behind the wheel, pulls out a stone and its sorted

Can't believe the tosser on the desk wanted £35!!

So yeah, if ever you get a ear piercing screeching from your wheel, try reversing round the block a few times! (The guy said it probably helped dislodge it)

Had that on my old polo - called VW assistance who also did it for free!

Stealer name and shame, shocking customer service, with Rover, ALL adjustments were free under warrantee.

Simpson's Great Yarmouth.
Although, theyre not actually vw no more... officially skoda.
But then they did send out letters saying they would do any warrantee work so long as 'funds allowed'

Another one to avoid is Robinson's of Norwich. They quoted '£229 minimum' for basic first service on the polo, whereas their other branch in Lowestoft did it for £163.
