Cheers for the comments guys. Cant really comment on the grip or handlng as have to drive carefully cos of gearbox issues! But shall let you know when i can give it some monkey.
The rear rims are 15"x9j (although they actually measure 10" across) and are et25. They have litterly 3mm clearance from the rear trailing arm and only catch the arches with rear passengers or on severe pot holes etc. The cars lowered 55mm at rear (cheers si!)
The front rims are 15x8 (again, these measure 9" though) and are et20. The wheelarch liners have been removed and the inner arch has been rolled a few mm, but needs more. It scrubs lots when taking a bend quite quick or whilst turning and going over bumpy ground. The fronts lower 60mm.
I have a few other plans to come. Not gonna extend the rear arches, just gonna roll them alot more, then i can drop the back a little further. The front i'm a bit stuck on. If the rolling isnt successful, i shall be extended the arches by bonding mk2 golf gti wheelarch spats on and blending them in.
I've been playing around with fibreglass recently (and carbon fibre) and am contemplating a one piece fibreglass flip front end, to incorporate the wings, bonnet and bumper, and house the headlights/fogs etc. I'm still trying to work out hinges/latches etc but thinking its definately a possibility (hopefully for e38). So if anyone engineery has any ideas how i can get the wings to clear the door when it tips up then please let me know!
Cheers, Andy

Cheers bud. I've been thinking and sketching out plans most of the day. The best plan so far is to use bmw e30 bonnet hinges and latch. The bonnet on these tilts the wrong away (ie the right way for what i want) but also jumps forward at the same time, so in theory should enable the front end to clear the doors.
The other issue i'm having is affixing the unit at the sides (ie the wings just above the skirts) to the body yet be able to unclip them when i want it to lift. Plans currently involve either those gash bonnet pins on the sides or triumph herald side latches. Still thinking though.
Any suggestions or comments?
