I'm liking it, looks a little like a minature golf.
The base models are always a bit underwhelming, when the normal mk5 golf pics came out I thought it was rubbish, the gti has really changed my opinion.
In a years time when they bring out a rumoured 180bhp gti polo it will really give it a boost, something that is sadly missed from the 9n range.
Josh you gave the woman sunglasses!

The crease on the wing looks good, but the absense of the side repeater creates a dead space at the bottom of the windscreen pillar.
Also, notice the absense of the "bulge" on the left of the radiator grille required on the 9N to accommodate the a/c rad filler cap. Look at the front overhang on this side profile with that in mind -- has the overhang got longer (maybe for pedestrian impact ratings)?

^^
You can *just* make out the new outwards bulge of the rear clusters on this pic.

There's a nice design cue from the new Passat in this pic. Note the continuous arc formed by the outer lower grille edges, the rubbing strip outer edge and the corner of the headlamp unit. Instrument binnacle looks unchanged. This *will* look good in a dark colour!

See previous comment about extended front overhang. This does change the proportions of the car quite markedly, in my opinion.

Same rear bumper, now with added parking sensors. Note asymetrical fog / reverse light combo - as seen on new golf, jetta and passat. Not a fan of these arrangements. Also note how they've obscured the lower portion of the new window profile to overcome my comment above re the interface with the parcel shelf.

Here you can see the effect the bulge in the rear clusters is having on the reflections.

Just look at that curve on the tailgate!

i like the new design, except the rear lights. i believe the car would look amazing with some nice wheels and a new set of rear lights!

am i right by saying this is only a face-lift?
like the 6n2 was to the 6n?
yeah i think the rear lights look abit 'in your face' but im liking the front end, much more sporty, but again abit to golfy aswell

like what they've done with the grill and bumpers on the front, the repeaters on the mirrors (me thinks me might be seeing how easy they are to wire up), but that's about it...
Front lights I just think rover 25/45/75 facelift

you know the way the lights cut into the bumpers.
Rear lights well in my opinion they suck.

I would like to see the interior with the 6n2 the interior appeared to be the biggest difference. much perfer it to the 6n.
I think it looks ok, and in time I may like it more than the 9n, in the same way I like the mk5 golf more than the mk4 now.
Especially that GTi

I'm not too keen on that as it is there but I imagine with a few quid spent on it it will look superb!

I dont' like the face-lifted looks... but my friend in VW Hong Kong said the 9N Polo GTI are much much better.. (very similar to New Golf GTI)

Rather like a US-market car.
Hmm... Why not sell the Sedan over there?

From what I can gather (reports of what's been seen in the region of the Florida testing facility), you may very well be onto something there...
Deek.
