His car isn't a road faring G40, it is a track day monster built by G40 legend Andy Boakes of Race Power Motorsport and chassis and tuning specialist Andy Waters of AW Tracksport. Andy Boakes G40 race car decimated the super coupe cup twice, it was also one of the smaller engined cars in the cup.

A previous car that may be more well known that had input from Andy Boakes appears at the back of PVW magazine in the top spot of polos every month. That run was with a passenger, it was using a G40 charger. It's time is still unbeaten in the polo world of this country even with the new eaton m45 type polos. Milko is getting very close though.

The problem is that car wasn't anything particulary special from other G40's about. It had a new standard bottom end at some point. But apart from that it was just the usual chip, pully, GT inlet etc. The most beneficial mod was the gemini diff and it used slicks on the pvw test.

The point I'm trying to make is that shouldn't believe all the times are absolutely spot on accurate.

It did not use slicks actually! What was special about the car, was it was proper rampant (like Richie Kleinhans's was), had a very good ported charger and used the aquamist and charge cooler to good effect. A phase 2 LSD certainly helps. You have to take into account the power delivery of an Eaton vs a G40. Ive driven both and the Eaton allows a more controlled launch from standstill, whereas the G40 wil just spin its wheels.

CK6UK: My engine does not use the G40 charger. I will be revving to 8500rpm and making power high up in the rev range, its also on throttle bodies, every little detail as been proper thought out, and it is a very trick engine.

I know of Mk3 Polos that have got into the high 13s, there's more than PVW's Hall of Fame for comparison. Lee's car was quick on the quarter, but if people are willing to spend on LSDs with their Eaton conversions and the like we should be seeing some more sub-14s Polos about.

Lee's one has done quicker times than what he ran in PVW, whilst Lee owned it.

Thing is though, he was using a 180 bhp G40 that has fended off Turbo polos, G60 polos and M45polos with over 220 bhp on a quarter mile.

The amazing thing is is the fact that he used a G40 charger rather than a G60, turbo or other type of charger and has still beaten them all with less power.
