No, just got it reovered home.
Not going to know whats up until the gearbox is out and stripped.
Its making a noise on tick over also, although by the time the recovery truck got there, the bearings must have cooled and I was able to select gears again.

Fingers crossed its the clutch...

Sounds like what mine did the last time round. The fifth gear bearing is plastic and has a tendancy to melt. It wont whine its kinda a whiring noise. The bearing melts something that looks like a bush in the end. I have the part numbers for everything to fully rebuild if you need them. I replaced every bearing and seal in the box.

Is this the longest gearbox repair in history?
Temp wheels fitted while I finish the refurb on the BBS rims.
Still need to connect the starter motor an put a new battery on and give it a huge clean!

 aye, It broke on April 4th 2007 lol

But in my defence, my broken gearbox and replacment box was stolen and I was searching for another box for a few months.
All I could find was a Lupo Sport gearbox that was kncackered.
The imputshaft/4th gear was fooked, 2nd gear was fooked.
The gearbox was fully rebuilt using GTI items.

But yes, the box has been repaired for a few months before I got my arse in gear.

Another excuse Ive got lined up is that Ive been building Lupo as well.

But anyway, passed MOT last night.
Waher jets are blocked and headlamps need adjusting, but thats not a huge job.

Theres a weekend worth of cleaning a head yet though lol
