would be interested if the price is right. whats the legal stance on these? can you convert a normal car to hid and will it pass its mot?

Yup they are perfectly legal. The bulbs are E marked, so are legal for use in the UK. You can convert practically any car to HID. There will be no problems on the MOT

providing of course you have headlight washer jets ...

see hid's rapidly lose their intensity when passing a dirty lens, far more than a halogen bulb would

i believe this is an mot requirement for a hid enabled car

please see information regarding the modern mot, particularly the lighting section for hid enabled cars on the government mot website for more info

There is no test for headlight washer or levellers in the MOT for any car

I dont think that is so. Just did some research. A HID enabled Factory Fit car requires headlight washers and self levelling - retro fit kits dont require this.

edit:

'According to EU legislation HID systems factory fitted from new require a self levelling system and a lens washer to be fitted. However this is not required for aftermarket kits. .'

If anyone bothered to use the search function on here they'd find a thread i did about a year back with all the information regarding legality of aftermarket HID kits. . . . .

Yes it's a very good guide.
But it does not look like it's for a Polo !

If you have carrot fingers like mine, it will take you over an hour just to change the dam headlight, full beam and the sidelight bulbs on a 9N because of the way some moron designed the deadlights. Not quite German engineering.

The point is, do not expect it to take take 30 minutes to install this kit on a 9N due to the accessability (lack of).

i supose it depends on the model, my 1.2e is pretty easy to switch bulbs for, now that i know how!

Was just about to order the HIDs from the group buy section..just wanted to know from any1 that has already fitted the HIDs, did u guys screw them into the side of the car or simply tape it??

Could u plz post some pics up of the actual spot where u stuck the big transformer thing..
