noooo dont hammerite the front calipers. Get folia tec red brake caliper paint - its fantastic. Hammerite cant withstand the heat for one, and it wont go on amazingly smooth.
The hammerite for the back was the black direct to rust in a tin which you apply with a brush. remember to not over apply it as it will run - its also a cellulose based paint so you cant apply another coat until its non tacky/semi dry.
Itll take about a day to harden completely, so you really need to do it when you can just put the car up on axle stands and leave it!
