Yeh, that's why I used a relay with new wiring. Not that the horns are ever on for long though, to get hot... not like a set of lights for instance.

youd be surprised how hot a wire can get in a matter of seconds
if you wanna see then get an old car battery thats charged and hold a piece of speaker wire in some pliers and touch both terminls at once
i found this out when i was about 14 and read the the lead in a pencil is a semi conducter and can be used as a fixed value resistor if urgent so i cut the wood of a pencil and held it accross the terminals of a house alarm, backup, battery. after about 2 sec it was white with heat :shock: so never under estimate the things that can go wrong

lol, true true.
i remember all those physics lessons melting bits of wire and setting people bags alight by wrapping thin wire around them and putting a few amps thru it! :lol:
