She cant "do it herself" if she wants it to be accurate. Positive camber will be just as bad as negative camber.
Theres a place here in Ireland called advance pitstop, theyre basically like your kwik fit in england... I went to them because they had camber gauges and a laser tracking machine.
I had huge trouble with the guy doing it originally... he first told me it couldnt be done, then told me the camber bolts were in backwards so it was gona be a huge job!! I parked outside, jacked up the car and turned the bolts the other way, said he'd take another look, and in the end i got it done half price because he wasted my time....
I dont want to sound sexist here...You obviously know what your talking about, but no mechanic wants to be told by a girl that theyre wrong!!! None of them! Are there any guys you could get to bring it into them, and play up the whole... "oh, she says she can do it herself by adjusting these (print out a picture of the bolts they need to adjust), but I told her take it to a proffesional and get it done right"
That way your stroking theyre ego, your not correcting them, and your still showing them it can be done in your car.
Trust me, I know a lot of mechanic's who seem to think what they do is rocket science and cant be replicated by females.

No luck with JKM sadly - this is so infuriating, they just referred me to somewhere I've already tried!!

If I had somewhere to do it and I wasn't moving house in a week and a half then I'd be willing to give it a try but I live on a road that is definitely not flat and have no offroad parking so I wouldn't have anywhere suitable to do something like this.

Ah nuts... ok, sorry I cant be of more help then.
Can I suggest you give kwik-fit a bash though if theres one near you... its the exact same operation as advance pitstop and i wouldnt be surprised if the same guys owned it. They'll more than likely do camber and tracking in one go for you.

Lol, this is true - I did get the feeling some of them were a little ticked off by my trying to contradict them. My boyfriend is a coach mechanic so would be very useful but he's working til 10 every day this week!

Bryony, it might be worth checking out
this company. IIRC, Morden is close to the A3 (still a bit of a journey though), and they apparently have 4-wheel laser alignment as well
Oh and Micheldever are a good company to deal with. My Dad gets most of his tyres from there as well.

Went to this site and found that theres a Protyre (same company) in Fareham, which is where I'm moving to next sat! Called them and they didn't seem to think there would be a problem doing it so its going there this afternoon! Fingers crossed!

Lol!!! My bf came with me to the place that did it, the bloke who was working on it (knuckly dragging type!) kept talking to him as it the car was his. When it was done, he told him to drive it off the ramp, looked a bit surprised when I went over to do it and said 'oh, is it yours then?' lol!!!

Haha, see I told ya bring him with you.... ive to bring my GF's Polo to garages whenever anything needs to be done, because they talk to me either way, and tend to overprice things when she's alone and looks confused as they make words up...
"Oh, your tyres needed the shaft tweek bearing adjusted so we did that for you, it'll be included in the bill!"
