Tyre/Lowering/Camber problems!
Tyre/Lowering/Camber problems!
Went to a tyre place to get a pair of new front tyres (the car ate the last ones!). Needed to get the camber sorted properly, but the guy at the garage claimed that it wasn't adjustable and suggested I raise it 10-20mm...
Anyone else heard anything like this? Anyone running low have any suggestions?

Bullsh*t! Im down 60mm front, 50mm rear. The rear of a Polo isnt camber adjustable, but the front is.
Tell him he's a moron and do it again!! If the camber bolts are in backwards it confuses some (stupid) people.
If you have a massive drop you'll never get it bang on, but I got it to within a degree of right!
Unfortunatley excessive rear tyre wear is just one of the joys of lowering a polo

There isn't much camber on the back really, its the fronts that are the major problem, I've just spoken to a different place who say they can't do it either. They said maybe speak to the main dealer because it can't be done on each strut, apparently its more complicated than that or something.
I've been trying to get this done for so long its ridiculous and now I need new front tyres because of it!

This is really winding me up, I know how to adjust it but no-one will listen to me! I've called 2 garages and my local vw stealer and they all say they can't do it despite me telling them that it is possible.
Does anyone know of a garage in the Portsmouth area that has done this on a 6n2 and therefore won't treat me like a moron!?

Bryony, the only specialist I can think of in Pompey is JKM. It might be worth giving them a call as they supply/fit coilovers etc including alignment so they should know what they are doing.
You could try these people

They did mine, have all the latest computerised laser stuff.
They get very busy at weekends.
