Was thinking wonder how hard it would be to 'modify' the Lupo's lights... Expensive though!

The main part look similar in size although the internals are different.

The Lupos GTI's lights have the projector HID part, bad idea I know, but might be worth a shot if a set ever come up cheap enough.

Hey guys. First time I'm posting. Allready visiting this forum for a while.

I'm living in Holland. Since January I'm driving a silver 3-door Polo 1.4 16V 55kw.

Unfortunately OEM HID where not available. I replaced the original Halogens with a Xenon kit from Catz USA. It looks nice but not OEM at all.

So now I bought 2 projectors + electronics from a BMW E46. When weather is becoming a little better I'm planning to fit these into my headlight-units.

I'll keep you informed.

So it is possible to grab some bits out of the M3 headlights and use them on our POLOs?

That sounds impressive, but looking for the projectors from M3s will be quite hard.

Do you know if you can use other types of projectors? IF so I can go to my local scrap yard and have a look around for them.

Welcome to the forum.!!! :D

No, it hasn't got to be a M3 projector. A normal BMW 3-series xenon projector will do the job. Because I'm a daily driver I think I'll buy 2 extra headlightunits for my Polo, so I can take my time to build it properly.

Welcome joy!

Sounds like a good idea. I'm going to try and source some bits myself if they ever come up cheap enough. Would be very cool.

I just wonder when they do bring out the Polo gti if THAT will have the 'proper' xenon's

Again the angel head lights are only l/h/d which obviously aren't road legal for us uk drivers....well mot passable tho most of us 9n drivers that wont matter for a couple of years yet. but hopefully they'll make a r/h/d for those of us who care.

Cheers jaz.

SiDaBa how come they're not legal in the UK.. is it because of the black backround? If people buy the mirror one should be ok?

I do see a problem though...

How would we adjust them so the projectors give off a nice even light?

The dealers wouldn’t do it
