Someone told me they are customer made xenons.....i know that's not much help but i'm gussing they'd be pricey!! However i have heard that there are "angel eye" headlights available, has anyone see these, i know they're only available in l/h/d tho!
When i was in Turkey last summer most of the higher spec Polos driven by Polo enthusiasts had these headlights, over there people are well into their Xenons and darked out lights. Those headlights up close look so much better with darkened "passat" lenses and smoked houseing. If i remember correctly they were 130 Euros over there but i couldnt get them becuase I only discovered where they were sold on the day before I had to leave for england
Does this not go back the thing of them being road legal?? If the xenon's then they have to be self leveling is it? And also in the uk it's required by law to have head light washers, was in a huge post not that long a go. Still i could stand corrected.
You're right, you have to have an auto levelling system and washers, but when it comes to MOT time, I don't think they go out of their way to look for the levelling system, and it's not a big thing, you can always bung the standard bulbs back in the worst case just to get through the MOT.
Normally if you have the manual levelling on 1 that keeps away 'unwanted' attention.
If your lights are dirty, then the way the HID light is, will blind oncoming traffic. But the headlight washers aren't the best anyway, and how often do we let our lights get that dirty!
As with the later mkiv Golfs that had self leveling built into the back of the hid headlights this will no doubt be the same with standard hid lights once they become available for the 9n.
So for those with headlight washers (Scorpio1) if you decide to go for genuine 9n HID's then you are totally legal.
Even for those that do not have headlight washers it should be relatively easy to retrofit, I mean you don't have to have the fancy VW popup washer, a fixed washer set should do.
Yes they are illigal but the Police are not aware that the 9n Polo doesn't have Xenons as an option so for all they know its all legit'
untill they read this that is
They have better things to do.......
