I don't have to take bumper off or anything do i? then the next step is blue motion front splitter and my front end is done!
No bumper off and no need to remove fogs.

Left side has one phillips screw then just pulls out
Right side just pulls out no screws

Middle one again just pulls out no screws however this is usualy the hardest to get out.
i cracked one of the slats but didnt care as i had my beautiful new honeycombe gril to put it it's place 8) SIMPLES

thought I would resurrect this thread as I got my GTi a week ago and would like a set of these. Is there a reason why people don't buy em from volkswagen?

This is the Vaglink set

The look pretty even/symetrical to me from the picture

No, these are the GTi ones: GTI Honey Comb Lower Grille Set.

The cutout for the SMIC is visible in the picture but to be honest the exact same thing exists on the Mk 5 Golf GTi, and how often do you actually notice the hole on those?
The GTi ones also have the honeycomb pattern on the outer sides of the fog lights whereas the standard Polo ones don't.

pretty sure thouse part numbers arnt genuine VW ones, ran them through ETKA ive got and no record of any of them, couldn't find honey comb ones my manually looking either, pretty sure VW never made honey comb lower grilles for the polo at all even as a option.

There are a set of lower honey Combe grilles in the for sale section of this forum. Maybe worth a look. I think the seller wants £50 witch is cheaper than buying them from vaglink.

I got the ones with almost no ventilation on my GTi. Just took a drill and made a s**t of small holes, but on the left side of the fog light ( The sort of smaller section on the end of the grille).

It's not noticeable ( does not look bad) and I saved a lot instead of buying the ones with pre-cut holes :)

Mine is doing just fine with a slight reduction in air flow..
