Woohooo....Going to get my Polo next Thursday/Friday and the Insurance company has given me 300 pounds back. Going to make huge savings.

Looking forward to attending the meetings and getting ideas on mods. I think it will be better keeping the car stock for a year before doing the mods.

The GTi will most likely have a Diesel engine option, probably the 130. But then you can Superchip the Sport 100 to 131bhp and 226lb's of torque for only Â£400.

Hmmmmm, guess I'll wait and see what happens.

I test drove the Seat Ibiza 130 but prefer the Polo! I heard the advert on the radio regarding the superchip and they are based in Uxbridge. Is there a way to switch off the chip when taking it in for a VW service?

Superchips do all the work for VW Racing but you'd be in danger of loosing your warranty if you do chip your car.

I may well send a letter to VW UK see what they say, I'd rather have something in writing than verbal. There are companys out there that do switchable chips accessed via your cruise control, (if you don't have this function they also fit this for you) you can have standard, limited, full power I think the company is APR.

Put it this way you now have three years of worry free motoring, anything goes wrong VDUB sort it, three years VW Rescue, and if you went for it (like I did) three years servicing.

Plus you went for the top model so you should have everything you need, a few subtle mods will be fine, plus you wouldn't be breaking the bank.

Did you order any extras? Heated Seats etc

There's one system for the Golf where the standard ECU software _and_ the remapped stuff is loaded into the car at the same time. A "key/dongle" is provided which plugs into the VAGCOM port and switches the car from chipped to unchipped mode. All the standard VAGCOM stuff remains on the car and operates as normal. I think I recall seeing this on MKIVS. I seem to remember this dongle thing hanging out from their central console, somewhere above the ash tray...

Don't know if such a system exists for the polo, yet though.
