Golf Mont II Alloys

Post by Mikeyw »

Is it okay to fit Golf 16" Mont II alloys to the new Polo? If, yes this could please VW and will not affect the warranty.

Thanks in Advance

Yes, I was almost on the brink of doing it. Then I saw the Brands Hatch ones...

Yeah, they are basically the same as the San Marinos but with less detailing. Only thing that can really go wrong with wheels is corrosion and if you buy the wheels new from VW then you'll get a 2 year warranty anyway...

Nelson.

(If you go look a few topics down I did a very bad publisher/photoshop example)

Cheers!

Actually, I would like the Mont2. I have MM Evo 17inch on m current Golf and would like to put it on my Polo but is it too big for the Polo?

They will fit.

You just need some lower profile tyres for the Polo.

I'd still say it depends how wide they are.

And if they are 7" then no problem, any wider and you might have some probs. But give em a try!!

I read in a vw magazine that they will fit but need lower profile tyres.

I have decided to go for 17"! Do you think the MM Evo 5 alloys will look good on the Polo?

Also, what size rubber - 205 40 17??

Thanks in advance.

I'm running 205/40/17 on a 7" wide wheel. No probs on standard suspension, now dropped approx 70/65mm with no major problems, bit of scrubbing when I'm giving it some :)

Can't picture the MM Evo 5, got any pics?

They are on my Golf at the moment - wondering if the stealer will notice if I take them off and put 15" on?!

How do I put the pic up on here as I one one in my hard drive??

Nah, just do it! But it "will" make you lower it!

You need to upload the picture, sorry can't help you there as I use my own webspace. Try http://www.imagestation.com, I know a few people use that. But once you've got a URL just use the [lMG]URL HERE[/lMG] tags!
