What is eeprom?
I have purchased cluster on eBay it's used cluster
I have requested vw to install let's see what they do.

Eeprom is a component where all the definitions of the cluster are.
To access it is necessary to disassemble the entire cluster because it is located below the central display.
We need to change that component?

As this component is cheap you can replace and save the original.
The procedure is to extract the data from the eeprom and change the required fields and write again to the same eeprom or write to another without changing the original.

A question to who have the amarok dashboard retrofitted in their car;
I've done swap, everything works correctly but the boot lid open warning doesn't.
If I test it with vcds, in the measurement channel IDE00303-MAS00222 there is there is the right behaviour, but nothing appears in the display.
The other doors works correctly.
Maybe because Amarok is a pickup, they have disabled the boot lid open warning in the eeprom.

Someone knows at which offset lies this setting so I can turn it on?
Thank you

In the end I was able to solve all the adaption issues with a massive multiple eeprom comparing from various models and versions. There are big changes in 1xxx eeprom layout, that was long and tedious. Brake fluid ok, speed signal ok, boot lid ok, fuel tank ok, low fuel warning ok, picture ok.

definitely looking good

Hey there,

I have also retrofitted the Amarok cluster to my 1.2 TDI Polo. Did all the adaptions and changes in the eeprom with VDOeditor and manually using some russian spreadsheat I found

Like gelotus I already have compared many eeprom saves, but to this date wasn't able to find where the boot lid warning light and the TMPS is beeing enabled.

I've been driving around without those features for a year now, but would like to enable them.

Gelotus if you could help me? DM would be appreciated so much.

Best regards,

Hey Tobi, were you able to find a fix for the boot lid warning? I've looked all around- translated the russian spreadsheet and searched around forums but i couldn't find a fix for it anywhere.

Hello,

Where do you find information about that retrofit, I would like to do it, also. Can someone help me with that information?

Ask the AIs. If you ask the right questions (prompt), you'll get the right answers.

If you don't ask the right questions, try again creatively. 👨‍🎓

Note:
AIs or GPT chats know almost everything, except what I know and the important things. 🧙‍♂️😁

Warning:
AIs lie, which is a great part of their creative nature... this sounds like something we know very well.

Hi master ciclo

I've tried putting that spreadsheet in all SOA AIs to look for anything remotely close to boot/trunk/lid in russian, and all have returned with nothing. I also tried deep research modes on chatgpt and claude, and all they could return was link to other forums where other people have asked the same question and have received no replies. I am really surprised that this information is gatekept while all other info on retrofits has been generously shared by you, iichel, and many other members of this and drive2ru forum.

I haven't tested this program -Vag Dash Editor-. Instrument panels weren't one of my concerns.

Thank you for the advice, ciclo! Appreciate it, but I try to not use much AI for this kind of things, I work on a daily basis with AI and it lies a lot, and for some specific things it "halucinates". And this is a cluster, if something is messed up, the car won't start as I know.

I looked into this spreadsheet as well, much the same. The issue is that when you run amarok instrument clusters on polo, even after correcting the display image, the rear boot lid being open doesn't show up on the display. All four doors open/close state does show up, but the boot remains static. People have found the solution to this, but unfortunately it hasn't been shared anywhere - not in the spreadsheet, not in any forums(that i could look up).
