Polo 6R 1.6 TDI with Amarok cluster
Hello everybody
I own a 2011 polo 6R 1.6 TDI
Last week Volkswagen installed a amarok cluster and it is working.
But now I'm searching for someone who can modify the eprom to have wheel circumference, braking fluid floater, fuel gauge and pictogram fit the Polo.
Can someone please help me
Oh by the way, I'm from Holland

The worst is getting to eeprom because the changes are very easy. I can help too. Did you buy the cluster in VW or were you only there to install? I have mine to install but I'm stopped because I can not install the immobilizer and in VW they do not do this to me.

I already went to VW and they do not do the service because the cluster was already from another car.spacewalker wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2017 1:43 pmI can do that for you inc milage resetgti16 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2017 10:51 pm The worst is getting to eeprom because the changes are very easy. Eeprom is a component where all the definitions of the cluster are.smg_shardul wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2017 3:53 amWhat is eeprom?gti16 wrote:The worst is getting to eeprom because the changes are very easy. To access it is necessary to disassemble the entire cluster because it is located below the central display.

We need to change that component?gti16 wrote:Eeprom is a component where all the definitions of the cluster are.smg_shardul wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2017 3:53 amWhat is eeprom?gti16 wrote:The worst is getting to eeprom because the changes are very easy. No the EEPROM is a piece of software.

Re: Polo 6R 1.6 TDI with Amarok cluster
EEPROM is actually a piece of hardware, ie a chip or IC, EEPROM = a read-only memory whose contents can be erased and reprogrammed using a pulsed voltage, in other words I'd expect to be able to alter/change its contents without removing it - if VW has allowed for that to happen. If not it would need to get removed and fitted to a jig to get reprogrammed. (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory)

Re: Polo 6R 1.6 TDI with Amarok cluster
You are right. The software is the EEPROM dump. But the chip is actually very writeable, for example all the adaptation channels are saved there (the same ones you adapt per vcds).
It also contains non-modifiable parameters, in this case the module identification, immobiliser keys etc.
In this context, calling the software the eeprom made sense but you're completely right. It's the chip. We change the chips' software.
