20V  is that the 1.8T engine as used in the golf 4 or the audi 5 cyl becuse thats the only 20V engines in the current vag line up and the gti version hasnt even gone into production
however i could be wrong if you really do have one then please scan in the front cover of the manual and the areas where it speaks of the gti or even photograph it as i would be very interested to see how i missed a completely new engine that has been introduced into the vw line up, and to think i spend hours upon hours reading about vws on a daily basis and oh wait ill check the parts computer at work but they might not have it.
if you do have a 1.6 20 v then how big are the brakes? are they the same as other models becaus i would have thought that for the homologation they would need to be huge? no?
oh and please can we have some engine shots :)

I know your car isn't a 1.6 because you told me on msn and I have confirmed it myself with a dialog check. Why don't you just tell us the truth and maybe you'll still have the dignity to post on these boards.

Who knows, maybe we'll even grow to love you

Guys,

If the lad wants to back out of what he said with some dignity, then let him do that.

It might be a good idea to keep the personal stuff out of this forum. Let's try to keep it the nice friendly place it has been so far.

Perhap's he's been misled, has misunderstood something or, of course, maybe his enthusiasm for the brand got the better of him. Whatever it was/is let's give him the benefit of the doubt for the time being and keep the environment one in which he would feel welcomed. If he hangs around, he'll soon notice that this board isn't about bragging rights, and I guess would adjust his stance to fit in. Maybe he's just been scared off by this reaction...

Just my 2p (as a mod...)

Deek.

Peace.

I think I've cracked it....the guy with the Polo 1.6 20v  is actually a wannabe (9n) Polo driver. He must have said 'that' out of sheer embarrasement  when he actually realised all of us drive decent, well built cars, with passion and well he is simply a Nova driver. Now he may have told some porkies but I think we should give him a second chance (providig he drives a VW-Polo).

I don't think we should be sharp with him, after all he must be utterly embarrased and sick at the fact that he drives a Vauxhall! Nova!-poor guy!

At the end of the day we don't have to hide when we get into our cars, do we! :)

I totally agree what you say dxg about the friendly banter that comes out of this board. But it annoys me that some little tick can come in here, lie and not expect to immediately wind people up.

I have no problems with you posting here VwpoloGTI_1, but why lie? Surely you should have grown out of that by now...
It would have been much better if you'd said...

'I have a 1.2 SE that looks the dogs *ahem*, its obviously underpowered. But heres what I'm going to do about it...'

Just tell us what your car is REALLY like and we'll try and help you out with what you want.

Anyway, Welcome to the board!!
I notice your from Hereford, been round that area once before, I've still got the drag-marks on my knuckles from when I tried to blend in!
