I totally agree with you
100%, but once you've enjoyed the lane assist with the 2Q0 camera and ALG active, the lane assist with the 3Q0 camera seems like a weak assist to me, and in my humble opinion even dangerous if you're confident or optimistic.
When we evolve to teleportation to move from A to B, with the first teleportation units we'll appear on the other side half human half fly. It's not bad either.

My last experience with 3q0 camera was M sw + modified parameters 600sec from audi q3 8u. It was impressive, because ping-pong effect was at the minimal level. 10 min's of fully hands - and - legs - free
with no any indications of lane. Only ACC indication.
And since my car is currently going through a second swap (cwva + 5mt -> cave + dq200 -> cczb + dq250 awd), I decided to get rid of the problem of the lack of lane assist indication too radically))) move polo to pq35

2 points to think about:

2. Dashboard. Up's dash has only indicator. Neither lane assist menus nor pictures. So it seems to me that pq25 sw (polo, amarok, T6) of vdo dash have locked lane assist indications. I'm noy sure, but it really seems to me. Of course, eeprom was corrected, but nothing.
Also dash from UP has an interesting adaptation "Lane assisnt active, yes/no", but no one vdo dash has it. Eeprom again? I doubt it very much.
But there is a good news:
Can powertrain + non-pq25 coding (pq35) makes the camera to work. Yes, there will be a fault in the GW "A5 lost connection" but lane assist will work. Also there won't be any indication on the dash. Because of GW fault.

I’ve recently been researching the A5 camera as well.
On a Chinese forum, I found a post about a PQ25 Jetta 1.6 where someone mentioned successfully replacing the A5 camera with a 3Q0 980 654C unit.
I’m currently contacting that person to ask for more details.

The Chinese car owner reported that he is unable to provide more detailed information about the A5 camera retrofit, as the Lane Assist. was installed by a modification shop.
He also mentioned that after consulting with others in China who have experience with similar retrofits, so far no one has been able to make the instrument cluster display Lane Assist–related information.

3Q0980654P Camera is fully working on my T5.2 transporter, But also still also nothing appears on the dashboard, I think pq25 clusters don’t support lane assist
