I keep going through colour chips at work and still really wanna change the colour. Its a real pain not being able to make your mind up!
So many decisions, do i keep the polo, and do more? Do i sell and buy jap? or do i sell and buy another dub?
I've just re-insured the gti for a year, so i've got it till at least march next year, so plenty of time to decide. I just want something thats insanely quick! Could just go nuts, r32 lump in the boot or something!

tfsi not quick enough and too expensive. Am looking at v6's at the moment. I may have made my mind up!
Anyone know if they made a FWD audi v6? The vr6's are old hat, and the 24v's cost a fortune. Audi ones are easy to get hold of, just dont know what box i could mate it too.
My mate but a 2l 16v in the boot of a mk2 golf, i'm sure he'd be up for doing something to the polo. I must admit, i'm very tempted!
This dude on clublupo has inspired me!
Clicky
EDIT - unfortunately he's ran out of bandwidth on photobucket, so the pics have all gone!

The 3.2's are usually the top spec ones which are Quattro's.

massive credit for doing this, did you have trouble with overspray because it looks like you should have!
how is the metal weld holding up? any problems with that so far? looks very nice especially once flatted.
we need more pics of the finished article!

Thanks mate. Article not finished yet so no more pics! Car's currently lacking wheels and gearbox. Monkey metal is holding out fine, no sinking or raising of the filler. Will use it again in bodywork, does the job well. Only thing thats changed since the pics are that the boot handle is now back on. This was due to it failing the mot due to not being able to get in from the outside. Looks better imo anyway!
Overspray wasnt too bad considering the conditions. A little thinners and it was gone in a day. Still have to finish flatting the car, but need to spray the door shuts and a few other litle areas first.
Theres currently an S4 bi-turbo v6 on ebay. I'm very tempted!

We'll see how much it goes for!
Done a little research today. It would appear i need the subframe and gearbox from a fwd a4, as these are longitudinally mounted. A v6 vw/audi engine will then mount to this box and subframe. Only major problem is that the a4 uses a dual mass flywheel, and these are expensive, so i will do some research on the early audi's.
The subframe will obviously have to be welded to the back end of the car, and driveshafts would have to be measured to work out which ones to use. All looks fairly straightfoward. Front wishbones would then be utilized at the rear, probably mk2 16v golf, along with front hubs/brakes/anti roll bar etc. I dont know how well these would bolt to the subframe, so audi ones may have to be used. Major concern: my wheels would have to go! Also, the front setup on an a4 is extremely complex, with multiple wishbone and all sorts of links! So again, early audi's may be usefull!

Or do you think it wont be done? Many people doubt my crazy ideas, usually cos i have lots of them. Ok, a lot of them dont happen, but only because there overtaken by a crazier one.
If i came on here and said "i've got an x reg polo gti, i intend to smooth the bumpers, complete sides and tailgate myself, then spray it grey, myself, oh, and i have no bodyshop experience whatsoever", how many people would believe me/laugh at me? Anyone laughing now?
I know some of my ideas seem far fetched, but all of them are reachable. I like to set goals and acheive them, whether people think i'm talking crap or not is up to them, i just like to have fun!
Eg: my fibreglass front. I dont know what the weight distribution will me like mounting a heavy engine in the boot. Removing more weight from the front may make the handling rubbish, so i'll try it after the engine is in.
