I ordered a seat heating set from Ali Express for a Polo 6R: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003 ... 1802k0Z1C5 Although the seat heating pads look a different shape, but then I'm fitting some different seats (so that doesn't matter so much as long as they are not too long), but sadly after a week my order wasn't shipped and was cancelled -seems it's to do with Covid over there at the moment as I received this message: "Hello. Re-infected in China because of COVID-19. Regions are now restricted. All need to be at home. Waiting for multiple nucleic acid tests. After the inspection is over. before sending. It takes 7--10 days. Send the order."

I can't seem to find any other suitable seat pads there (most seem to be too long for the seats I'll be using). I just contacted Skoda main dealers to check the price and where they were £160-180 for the pads for both seats around a year or so ago, they now want £272.30 for the pads just for one seat!!! So that's a no go! Not spending £544!! The seat base pad code has been superceded now to 5JA 963 555C.

So I found a 2nd hand pair for one seat on ebay and ordered that, and found the back rest one for another seat on another site. The last one I found on a VAG parts website, but when they got the order in, they found that it was damaged, so had to refund me. I found a couple in Europe, but they won't sell to the UK (Thanks again Brexit! ). I'm taking the seats to be retrimmed this weekend, so I need the missing one urgently.

So I’m still having issues with my Drivers heated seat! The passenger seat works perfect. I have fitted a brand new heated seat base in the drivers seat it still dosn’t work. I have bought a 2nd hand control module nope still nothing apart from the switch lights up for about 3seconds and it turns off. I have now got a switch on order as I can’t pin point anything else. Fingers crossed the switch fixes it.

what about the backrest heating pad?

I have tested the Back test and that has continuity. So I know there are no breaks in that.

continuity isn't enough. it should have a very specific resistance. 1 ohm off one way or the other will make it stop.

What is the ideal Ohm range for it. I will test it later on.

The same as the seat base. Measure and compare

My Faulty Drivers seat has a backrest reading of 009.6 ohms. It already has a brand new heated seat pad.

My Passenger Seat backrest has a reading of 001.2 ohms.

So I guess I now need a new backrest pad for the drivers side.

I'm gonna steal this for a sec, but are these kind of packages good? Do they have everything you need to install heated seats?
Also are heated seats compatible with every polo? Are there any bcm restrictions or anything like that?

Any BCM will allow heated seats. I have an opinion about these sets from china, it's not very positive

I'm also pretty skeptical about them. ~200 euro seems a bit too good for a complete kit . Was curious if anyone got them and if they had problems.

Ive had these aliexpress mats kit for longer than a year now. No issues. All parts seem like oem parts.
