I’ve noticed that now the xenon lights are fitted, the bulb check warning is up for the sidelights and DRL’s, is this possible to code out? Am I right in saying that if the box is ticked, then it disables the check on that light?

Main beam: Nothing (the light even goes off on the switch)
Full beam: Does not work on any switch setting
Full beam (flash): works on all settings.
The loom I made includes a fog light relay, but my fogs are factory so I'm not sure if it was needed. The fogs work as cornering lights with or without the new loom.
I'm really hoping you can help on this as everyone on the T5 forums just keep telling me to get one of those auto-headlight kits from ebay. I want OEM standard!!

Sorry to jump in your post just like this, but I also a T5 owner and would love to ask you some question regarding the BCM upgrade If you do no mind.
I planning to upgrade my steering wheel and activate cruise control and maybe ACC from the steering wheel.
Is the D suffix BCM software number different or higher than this PQ25 Max4 H82 0752?
Have you had any issues with instrument lighting after upgrade?
Any issues with missing current supply?

Apologies for the very late reply iichel! Have been busy retrofitting power fold mirrors
I have cleared codes on the BCM and this has remained clear from codes for 2 days now, but still shows a bulb warning on the dash, presumably from the lower draw of the factory DRL’s? All bulbs are working fine, so I’m stumped

You can ask the bcm why it's unhappy about the lights. Or isn't there any error code?

Yes that is correct, there are no errors in the BCM at all (am jumping for joy just saying that) unfortunately it does not help us in this instance.
Are you saying there is a way for the BCM to force a recheck?

Finally getting stuck into this........
I have most of the front end off for an EGR cooler and thermostat replacement, Not a nice job! Smoothed out a bit with the fitting a Wagner Intercooler though
I am deviating from the "plug and play" looms slightly,
I am trying to replicate the original VW wiring and fuse locations for xenon's as much as I can. (I have a copy of ERWIN to refer to) I have not worked out how to get photos from my new phone onto the PC yet but I am taking loads of pictures as I go and will get them up here.
Anyway while the front end is in the service position I thought I would get stuck in, I am replacing the loom behind the bumper from the Left headlamp to the T14 & T10bl sockets with a new VW loom, so that is sorted.
From the T14 & T10bl sockets behind the bumper, I will replace wires as needed to reach the BCM and fuse box.
Right hand headlamp same as above. It is just the wiring that goes to SB6 & SB28 fuses from the headlamps I am not sure about. for example,
It looks like I will need to use fuse SB6 for left headlamp which is a Terminal 56a feed where as the original fuse was SB5 which was a 56b terminal. Im not sure what the difference is between 56a/56b?
So far....
I have ran a new 6mm2 wire from a spare location in the "A" fuse box which I have fused with a 30amp midi fuse (its all I have at the moment) This is ran into a spare grommet behind the scuttle and will be split into 2 x 2.5mm2 wires. These will then feed fuses SC12 and SC14. These will also be fused at 30amp and then feed the BCM T73a/63 & T73b/68. The original wires for these locations will be isolated.
I am struggling to get the pins out of the original T17 switch plug, I have Laser terminal removal tools but they seem to be impossible to use on this plug. This kit--

I have lifted the little tabs up while using the tool but It took me an hour just to get one out! I think Its going to get cut off tbh! The tools work ok on other sockets so far, just this one that's giving me problems.
Tomorrows job will be remove front seats, carpet and A pillar trim and so I can make a start on laying the wiring for Rain & light sensors and front/rear level sensors.

It is easy to search for different sizes types etc. For example, I struggled to find somewhere that differentiated between sealed and unsealed terminals and I struggled to find a site that I could buy everything "in one place" as it were. This site does that and also shows you related products which makes it easy to add other parts as needed.
Even through they ship from Germany and I ordered at the start of most counties being in the midst of lockdown, they still reached me in a few days.

Hello reido80 I have superficially read what you have commented in your post.
I will try to help you with all your concerns, I have to study what you have said step by step. (with diagrams, etc)
In complete agreement with you, it is difficult to remove the terminals from the T17 light switch connector. Some experience with this connector is necessary to find the trick to easily remove the terminals.
The LASER tools you have are totally correct.
The easiest and fastest way to transfer the photos taken on the phone to your PC is to connect the phone to a USB port on the PC. Find the folder with the photos on your phone and transfer them to a new folder on your PC. (it's just a suggestion)
Now we must be a little more patient in the shipments, although the majority of transport companies work perfectly and the delivery deadlines are met.

I have VCDS so I can post up scans etc. Although the first scan may be an old one but still relevant.
I can put up the full information of vehicle, equipment levels and what i intend to retrofit etc.
I have a load of parts which I think are correct for following your normal plug and play method, in case they are required. Eg I will need the 10 pin plug/socket for converting some wires for the light switch. - for this I have mk2 golf parts 191 prefix part number. I have a few different crimp tools, including the Engineer PA tool you recommend.
I was at my wits end with the T17 lol I think the laser tool pins are slightly too small a diameter and a bit to bendy for it to work first time.

Please make no mistake with the fuses, SB6 is not related to SB5, please check the diagrams again.

That
old VCDS Autoscan is the most important thing right now. Highly relevant.
Also the reference number of the new BCM Max, as well as the images of the wires (colors) that reach the T17 light switch connector.
...and also a VCDS Autoscan with the BCM Max installed (the more faults the better) in case you have it.
