What Mods have you done to your GTi?

WOW! for that price I can get a 1.8T GTI GOLF 4!

but since our model was unique it was only designed and made here... importing the body shell etc. from spain obviously. It's a bit like the Ibiza and the cupra model hey???

but surely then if I up my motor, get some nice leather seats, and some other nice decals etc. And put GTI on the motor it could be...

They've just launced the new POLO here.. (only 5 door) the one with the round lights!
the 1.4i for 100400ZAR ,1.6i, 1.6i comfortline, and the 1.4 TDI 140000ZAR!

I could sell my car for about 80000+ZAR, Do you think they might be considered a collectors item in the futur? How many other models of VW's are ther you think that are unique like this one?

I'm just toying with the thought of building up my car or selling it and getting a 1.4i, then I can get a caractre body kit... and upgarde the engine to some 2.0 spec in the future...

Do you think it might be possible to buy one of the UK cars and ship it here? or perhaps swap it with a guy who collects vw's so he owns a unique one?

I'd love to have the 4motion here... no one has it!!! or any nice overseas model... perhaps I should just move hey.. it might be cheaper...

I suppose the new spec polo will only lauch the gti model in about 2-3years from now... my cars specs are not as good as yours...
O well I could just dream on... and spend that 20000ZAR in mods etc.
But that's the other thing!!! I can't get any of the nice parts! gear knobs, steering wheels etc.

octanium im not kidding here do not get the 1.4 if you have a gti
i own an 01 1.4mpi match i.e. air con its a 5 door.
if you think you cant get any bits and pieces for the gti try and get them for a 1.4 cos i cant find much. to my knowledge there are ... no cams ... so fi kits ... limited body kits (5-door)
of the things that i do have the following are all the first in france designed specifically for the 6n2 1.4mpi
k&n (dont think its specific cos the breather passes too much il and u need a mini filter for the block breather)
ngk platinum plugs
power box
1st set of pads
various other stuff
here is the complete mods list (excluding ice)

knife edged throttle body
ngk platinum plugs (i killed/broke 2 of the original spec ones in the 1st 6000 miles)
kw variante 2 set to 3/4 hardness and 60-70mm south
"ultimate" front upper strut brace

(soon to be fitted same pads and galfer drilled and grooved disks)
omp stainless brake lines
15x7 oz tucano alloys skinned with bfgoodridge profilers 195/50/15 fitted by yours truly
