Post by Josh_PoloGTi »

Hi!

Thought I'd start this off...

I have...
B&M Short Shift Kit (Fantastic!)
Pagid Fast Road Pads (Much better than standard IMHO)
Nitrogen in Tyres
ICE

Erm, that's it for now!

First off: Nitrogen...

Does lots of nice things: Pressure stays the same when tyres are hot or cold, improves feel, doesn't oxidise inside of wheels and tyres.

Search on Google for it.

Anyway...
LED Rear lights? Clear? What make? LHD or RHD??? :D
I wanted Lexus style, but I think clears might be better. Where did you get them from? Is the fog light on the proper side?

learn something new everday! :)

they are hella led lights. and they are lhd. however this is easily solved..first of all the foglight is solved by putting a red buld in and the reverse light by just smashing the red filter.

got my lights from Venom and they were £110 plus vat

here is an old pic of my car wiv em on....they dont have the red filter in them now...

Nitrogen...
So instead of pumping up your tyres, you fill them with nitrogen?

How would you do this? do you get a special kit?

*This post should really go in the MK4 Section - I might move it there*

Stevie

Could I make a suggestion?

Have you thought about removing your rubbing strips down the side of your car?

I did it on my MK4 and it makes it look sooo much smoother.

Directions: (Use at your own risk!)

1 Get a hair dryer (I used my mums!)
2 Get an extension cable
3 When it's not raining, take extension cable and hair dryer outside to your car
4 Plug hair dryer into extension lead
5 Get a blunt round edged butter knife
6 Heat up the corner of the rubbing strip on the door (the side underneath your door handle
7 Heat it up for quite a while
8 With the butter knife, using the other rubbing strip (the one on your rear quarter) as leverage, start to prize away the door rubbing strip
9 Keep the hair dryer on the strip, keep it warm
10 When you get about 3 - 4 inches done, stop.
11 Place the rubbing strip back on the door and start on the back one, again, using the one you've just done as leverage (so you're not levering on paint!)
12 Once you have done 3 - 4 inches of the rear one, start again on the front one. Keep the heat on the strip and VERY gently prize it away until the whole thing comes off. IT WILL TAKE A LONG TIME!
13 Do the back one
14 Get some polish (T-Cut, Whatever) and remove the sticky residue off the paint
15 DO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CAR!

Makes it look a lot more Audi A3... Very Smooth!

Take it easy doing it, keep the heat on! You don't want to pull your laquer or paint away!

Get a little stool to sit on when you do it. It took me about 4 hours!

Have fun!

Josh is aware of most of the mods to my Mk4, and can direct you to pictures, but here's a short list,

De bagded and smoothed tailgate
custom 16v rear bumper (exhaust cut out moved)
Bad Lad bonnet
VR6 exhaust
smoothed sides
17'' Imolas
40mm springs
Seat cupra splitter on 16v bumper
coloured clusters all round
Lots & Lots of Audiobahn ICE (you thought it was loud before Josh?)

And here's the list of winter mods
NEW R&A front bumper (work in progress)
17'' Team Dynamics Spyders
Tints
Leather and Alcantara trim
Graphics?

I've seen the development shots of the bumper and it looks wicked! Similar to some Bomex jobbies but not as extreme, i'll post some pictures when they've finished with my car!!!

Karl

Sounds like it's gonna be phat!

I like the look/sound of audiobahn stuff, just a bit expensive!
