Well finally got a decision through on Saturday. After 2 weeks of miss-communication between the garage and the Insurance company, they decided to send an independent engineer out to look at it. I spoke to the garage on Friday after he'd been and they reckon about £4500 to repair it. I got a letter through Saturday morning from the independent engineer, confirming that they are going to repair it.

Bit gutted really as I had already chosen my new car and was looking forward to getting that, but wont be able to afford it now. Would probably only get about £9k - £10k if I sold mine, but would of had nearlly £15k if it was written off.

Guess I'll be keeping the Polo then, I'll just have to make sure the garage do a good job

Dont know if Gra will be on here today but I thought that I would update you all....

He's got it back!!!

We had a good look at it on Saturday and everything seems fine with it now except for the trim around the inside of the rear window (you can see it hanging off in the first pic on Gra's 1st post). They have just put that one back on instead of ordering a new one. The problem is that all but 2 of the clips are broke and is now loose and rattles!

Apart from that it looks like a top job.

I presume Gra will put some photos up when he gets chance.

Yep, its all sorted now. Its only been 11 weeks since the accident, so not too bad really  !

As Jay (jrw) says, it looks pretty spot on, the only problem was the rattling in the boot trim, but thats pretty much sorted now, just put some foam in where the broken clips were.

Very impressed with paint job, the colour blend is excellent. I know that the boot handle is the original one and hasnt been sprayed, but the rest of the boot has and you cant see any difference in colour.

I'll post some pics up on Saturday when I get chance to take some in the light.

Nope, everythings sorted. The only thing I need to do is claim my £400 excess back that I paid to the garage on Saturday.

It feels proper rapid now too, after having a Mazda 3 for 11 weeks, I forgot how grunty it was. I was beginning to think the Mazda was quite quick, but how wrong I was.

Maybe they Revo'd it :D , either that or she's got so much pent up frustration at not being used for so long she's gained some extra horses
