Ouch!!! - My poor Polo
Ouch!!! - My poor Polo
Well, driving into work this morning, I was driving along a 50mph road, when the cars in front suddenly braked hard, and so did I. Unfortunately the van that was coming up behind me didnt! . I saw him coming so tried to move over to the left, but didnt have time. He tried to go to the right, but again didnt have time and he plowed into me. Because I was trying to go to the left he pushed me into the crash barrier, that I scraped along (thats what the damage at the front is from!) Fortunately because I did this I didnt smack into the Vectra in front of me.
Well this is what she looks like now. What do you reckon? I think it might be a right off

Well I think we going along at 40mph before I braked. I reckon he was probably still doing about 30mph when he hit.
I'm fine. Just a bit shaken up. My back is starting to hurt a little now though, but other than that not a scratch.
I didnt realise untill I got out that there was glass all over my drivers seat from the back window. Didnt even feel that hit me.

Actually I thought the Polo stood up to it quite well. Its only the back thats crumpled, the cabin and everything is fine. Basicallly the car did its job with the crumple zones and stuff.mysteryboy wrote:Looks pretty bad, especially considering it was only about 30mph...
Just goes to show polos are not as solid as you'd think...
At least you're alright tho, cars just an object...

Yeah thats what I'm thinking. I've already taken everything out of my car, including the minor little visual mods off, I'll be taking the CD changer out soon, my mates got the box to put back in there.toXXin wrote:At least you're OK!
I'd be surprised if you see your car again, insurance companies have written off lesser damaged cars!
I've already started looking on the net for a replacement. Might just replace it with another GT yet. I'll have to see whats available. I dont really know what else to have as I havent been looking for a new car because I was happy with this one

Dont think the Polo stand will be having anymore V1AGRA anytime soon.ModifiedMadness wrote: Hopefully, they'll sort you out and you can get another one if it is written off that is, and I hope you get to keep the infamous V10 GRA plate
Cant believe they dont do a 130 diesel polo anymore.
Good job you got GAP ins anyway Gra.
BTW we stripped it of all the valuble items inside (cd changer, door pins, cubby box, sun glasses holder) and front grill within 5 mins!!
It does actually look worse in the flesh than in the photos. Definite write off I reckon.
