Ok fair enough but can I pose this question...have you really 'driven' the car spiritedly through some tight dipping sweepers??

Hey mate, do you have a pic from the front or back where I can see how the rear and front wheels look with the spacers?

Thinking of doing it to my GTI.

Rubbish? Proof?

I ran the exact same springs on my car with 15mm spacers up front to clear the Porsche brakes and never once rubbed.

Well, I don't think you will regret the sell of the Polo, great choice!

UPDATE:

I have cancelled the order for the ED35, I felt for the extra money It costs there isn't much difference (not as responsive as the polo gti believe it or not, found out on a test drive)!

So as I'm keeping the gti, Its in the garage as we speak getting the wheels powdercoated anthracite and the wing mirrors gloss black.

Pics to follow friday .

Mweh, I certainly take the 2.0 TSI over the problematic 1.4 TSI. But it's indeed a lot of money! :P

I think you've made the right choice in keeping it!

Im only saying this as I went in a ED35 a few weeks back. Very nice to look at. Not a lot of difference to sit in (I didn't think) and yes it was fast but I agree with you, it doesn't feel £10.000 + quicker.

My 2 cents anyways.

Exactly my point it seems pretty much the same except a tiny bit bigger, the polo feels like its on rails compared to it lol

The 2.0TSI isn't that much more reliable, they suffer from many of the same issues as the 1.4 TSI I personally know of 2 Mk5 GTI's (same motor as ED35, Golf R, Scirrocco R) that drink more oil than many of you with aoil issues have posted about. One guy drove hois car accross the nullabor (Adelaide to Perth accross the Great Australian Bight) and it drank a 5 litre bottle of 5w-30 fully synthetic and that was highway kms with the odd run up to 160+.
