The thing that gets me is people slag them of, but provide. No evidence whatsoever ever!

I think the issue is the early ones were all ebay and amazon specials which from my understanding did just trick sensor into over fueling and upping boost on turbos. Myself included probably have a negative view from these. However after reading this and other reviews on sites on remaps either is always a risk and dtuk seem the best out there for the box. I still have reservations as it is a box kind of piggy backing on the ecu to an extent and as stated if you turn the box to +3 does cause issues so how well tailored is the box to the car and how well tested is it if it causes problems. I was all about maps rather than boxes but this review has made me think twice and will deffo be watching the development of this thread before writing off either. I think either way it comes down to quality of either product and trust in the person thats developed it. After searching the net iv discovered theres horror stories to both sides.

Yes they are. DTUK customise then and provide support

So these DTUK boxes, they state they can get my 1.2 tsi to 125bhp but will this only be from max setting? As from whats stated on here you get problems if you turn the box all the way up? If this is the case would a revo remap not be a better investment for the £400 cost? Im all for giving the tuning box a go and DTUK seems by far the best and safest on the market but dont want to spend that kind of money if i can only turn the box to setting 2 and get an extra 5bhp if you get what i mean

You need to look at more than just the peak bho increase.

The map curve is important. For example, you'll notice +20bhp more at 2500rpm than you would at 6000rpm in day to day driving.

The reason boxes have settings is so that the end user can fine tune things to their own car or preferences.

Even if, and using your example it was only 5 bho peak increase (and I'm sure it will be more than that!), but you had +20 bhp mostly everywhere else, you'd be very happy I'm sure.

Give one a go, DTUK stand behind their product and will help if you're unhappy I'm sure.

Still having start stop issues with my box. It's really odd, and apparently I am the only one :/ basically the car refuses to enable start stop with the box fitted. Occasionally I get a full on start stop error too. Removed the box for now, trying to think of what might be causing it.

I've been umming & ahing about this for the last couple of weeks, but this post has finally made my mind up for me. Thanks for sharing your experience, but I think I'll stick with stock

Must say I am not missing it all that much. A bit worried its just going to sit in its packaging now :/ The pedal box is great, super east to put in and remove, and make a big difference to drive-ability.

My view is you either want more power or to save fuel.

Remapping or tuning boxes are a bit contradictory to start stop systems.

The system on our Audi A3 I find quite intrusive and a bit pointless. You can save much more fuel using your right foot IMO.

I agree completely, but this is full on errors that take over the MDF.
