Re: Toymachine1' Polo 6R Comfortline 1.2 TSI
Polo after 13 years and 203000 km. It's still OK but body definitely needs some work when you look closer Bottom of the car is still holding up extremely well. Just the few dents, small rust and scratches that need to be repaired.
Turtle Wax Color Magic, Jet Black makes big improvement but it's only temporary until you need to wax the car again.
Looking forward to fit the R-line rear bumper.

Judging by the brake discs, you haven't driven it a lot lately?

Re: Toymachine1' Polo 6R Comfortline 1.2 TSI
We don't drive the Polo that much but still 100-200 kilometers each week. Some weeks more as sometimes we like to take family trips with the Polo, it just has different atmosphere compared to Octavia IV.
The brake discs sometimes get that rusty color when you wash the car, maybe because the outer parts on the discs that brake pads never touch are rusted. But this year I want to replace all the brake parts, at least on the front first. A slight upgrade there maybe.
I've been thinking if CAXA engine on this Polo could make sense? Some day I will have to say good by for the CBZB and I want to have plan in advance. I don't need the car to be a rocket but a slight improvement wouldn't harm and also the swap should be rather straightforward.

Haven't posted any pictures of my steering wheel setup yet. Here's the old Passat MFSW (And GTI cluster)
Also CCS is currently dead completely. Ordered part 6Q0953513AL yesterday which will hopefully solve that. At the same time getting rid of the MFI buttons from the stalks.-

Re: Toymachine1' Polo 6R Comfortline 1.2 TSI
Installing front brake system from Polo 6R GTI. This changes front disc size from 256 to 288mm. Did already physical installation on right side and only after that tried coding this change but my coding is not being accepted: (22) Function cancelled., marginal conditions have not been met
I have ESP8.2i unit with current coding of 210228E3217600B2842614E384D400401700
I don't have to coding I tried now but thought that I would post here already. Any tips or advices are much appreciated.

I seem to remember that the codings on the ABS unit are done with Ignition ON and Engine OFF. ... the new coding will be accepted once you exit diagnostics.
Try to see what happens.

Re: Toymachine1' Polo 6R Comfortline 1.2 TSI
Thank you for the advise. Unfortunately tried this but no luck yet. My left ABS sensor was not connected so I was also having active error from that. Disassembled everything from left side this evening and tomorrow morning doing assembly. Maybe now the active error was the issue...
Also the coding I am trying is the following
210248E3217600B2842614E384D400401700 (288 disc front, rear 230 disc)
Btw. Could I be entering incorrect security code? I think I used code 40168.

The Byte10 in your new ABS coding for 288-232 was not correct.

I'm not totally sure, but I seem to remember that for the coding it is not necessary to enter the SA, although it does not matter if it is applied.

Re: Toymachine1' Polo 6R Comfortline 1.2 TSI
Oh thank you so much this I got wrong. Coding is still not accepted but I am using OBDeleven. Although I am able to enable XDS with it and all other coding and such has been successful so far.
Later this week I will attempt this coding using my friends VCDS. Any more ideas what could still be wrong? Error is still the same.
One another question: Would the abs unit calculate the fact that front brakes are now stronger and due to that it prompts an error code: 03306, coding invalid, implausible signal? Just asking in case there could some another issue due to "heavy work on the car?". AKA I broke something.
Ciclo my warmest thank you for your responses!

Re: Toymachine1' Polo 6R Comfortline 1.2 TSI
Hmm... there is always the possibility of breaking something when doing any work, or that the new parts installed are not correct, are defective or generate faults in the ABS system, especially the ABS sensor ring (checking) or the speed sensor if they are not original VW parts.
Check a second time that the cables/wires are not damaged and are well connected.

I'm not entirely sure but I seem to recall that users on this forum who did this same job on their 6Rs had no problems when coding their ABS units.
I have not yet done this same job on my 6R (from 256 to 288), it is a pending job, let's wait for some more advice from some members who have already done this same job on the forum and had total success.

Re: Toymachine1' Polo 6R Comfortline 1.2 TSI
Hey, the error I was getting was just coming from coding attempts. I currently have no error codes but didn't try the correct coding with VCDS yet. Maybe during the weekend or next week. I will post an update when I have tried. Hopefully success.
Question about another topic. So I finally fitted R-line rear bumper. It was pretty easy one man job but how have people dealt with this gap? I am thinking about mud flaps but what are the alternatives?
Edit: checked Iichels thread and maybe I need these brackets 6R6807409 + 6R6807410? Just seem that they won't fill that whole gap there?

Good luck with that coding.

Re: Toymachine1' Polo 6R Comfortline 1.2 TSI
Installed R-line rear bumper adapters (6R6807409 + 6R6807410) today. As I thought they won't fill the whole gap, but that's how VW has designed it I guess. Looks much better now though and the bumper is better supported now. (Screws are missing in the photo below, it started raining)

Re: Toymachine1' Polo 6R Comfortline 1.2 TSI
Tried ABS coding with VCDS today and unfortunately same result as with OBDeleven. Tried everything: doors closed, doors open, ignition on, engine running, hood open, entered security codes. Each time error 22.
Now I don't know what to try anymore or what to debug. Is it possible that it's related to SW version 0002?
